Two Riversmeet Park
Two Riversmeet Park refers to the new park for residents in Christchurch, linking the Leisure Centre to Stanpit. We have already started making this a distinctive and integrated public space to broaden recreational opportunities close to the centre of the town, whilst helping to protect more vulnerable habitats in Christchurch. Changing the golf course to general open space with recreational usage has already given residents greater benefit from the area, by permitting access to the beautiful surrounding landscapes with panoramic views of Christchurch Harbour, the Priory and Hengistbury Head.
This project has been approved by the council, with site enhancements underway. These improvements will happen organically as the public continues to help us decide what is most appropriate. New fencing, mown paths, soft landscaping and connecting access points all feature. The existing Information Centre at Stanpit will continue to be a focal point providing residents, the wider public and stakeholder information, education and engagement material for the Marsh and the new park.
