Stanpit Marsh Dog Control Order
The principal bylaws for the nature reserve were written in the 1970s. Since then the Marsh has become much busier and wildlife has become under pressure from a number of factors.
In 2010, a new Dog Control Order was confirmed. This order strengthens the bylaws and requires dogs to be kept on a lead within the reserve at all times. Please note that dogs are still welcome on the reserve, but they must be kept on a lead no longer than 3 metres at all times.
Activities on the Recreation Ground also have to comply with the bylaws and Dog Fouling Control Order, but dogs may still run freely off a lead on this site. It is the responsibility of the dog owner to make sure their dogs do not stray from this area.
If you have any queries about the dog control order, the Frequently Asked Questions information sheet compiled at the time of the consultation may help.
