Mudeford Quay, at the entrance to Christchurch Harbour, has spectacular views out to sea and of Christchurch town. The Quay is a popular sailing and windsurfing destination throughout the year and holds a number of dinghy championships. For more information about Mudeford Quay and its management please refer to the management plan.

Facilities at Mudeford Quay

The Quay Head is a pedestrian zone and the hub of activity set amongst a cluster of historic buildings thought to date from 1695 (Haven Cottages) and 1830 (The Haven House Inn). The Haven House Inn has a café and gift shop and there are nearby public toilets.

The Quay Head has traditional commercial fishing activity and a fish stall as well as mackerel fishing trips and speed boat cruises. Crabbing is a popular seafront promenade activity. A ferry runs from the Quay Head to Mudeford Sandbank. The Quay Head is also home to Highcliffe Sailing Club and the Mudeford RNLI Station.

The Quay Green grass area overlooks the harbour and is perfect for picnics and recreation. Next to the Quay Green is a children's play area and a large public car park. There is a public slipway and an extensive dinghy park. Avon Beach and Friars Cliff are easily reached via Gundimore Promenade which leads eastwards from the Quay .
