Council Tax Support is a means tested reduction to your Council Tax bill and is designed to help people on low incomes.
From April 2013 Council Tax Support replaced the Council Tax Benefit Scheme. The Government instructed that, for working age people, councils can decide their own scheme. Council Tax Support policy for your council.
For pension age people and certain vulnerable people, your local council must apply the same rules that were in place for Council Tax Benefit.
Alternatively you can claim Second Adult Rebate if you are State Pension Credit age.
You cannot get both Council Tax Support and Second Adult Rebate. If you qualify for both, you will receive the one that pays the most.
